Thompson Island Information Center

Due to funding cutbacks, this location is mostly used by the local chambers of commerce to give out information about their municipalities. If you are looking for specific information or advice concerning Acadia National Park, I suggest that you travel to the main Visitor Center at Hulls Cove. There are public restrooms available at both locations.

On the other side of the road of this Thompson Island location is a nice little day picnic area, right on the coast, with a good size grassy area for playing games. It is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Bathroom facilities are available here as well. (see panoramic)

For information during the winter months, visit the Park Headquarters on Highway 233 near Eagle Lake, just 3 miles west of Bar Harbor.
