Gorham Mountain Trail with Memoriam Plaque

This shows an early point along the Gorham Mountain Trail where there is a plaque honoring Waldron Bates - Pathmaker, the first to utilize stone stairways and iron rung ladders in the trails of Acadia National Park. The Gorham Mountain Cadillac Cliffs Trail, which breaks to the right, is a good example of his work.
