Jordan Pond Nature Trail

Jordan Pond Nature Trail
Acadia National Park
Mount Desert Island, Maine

The Jordan Pond Nature Trail is an easy 1 mile loop going through the woods and along the shore of Jordan Pond. Park in the North Jordan Pond Parking Area. The road leading to Jordan Pond is the boat ramp access road. At the top of this road on either side is the hiking trail. To the left leads to the Jordan Pond Restaurant. Start your hike by turning right. There will be a wooden enclosure on your left where you may pick up an informative brochure which is meant to be returned unless you leave the minimal amount asked (50 cents when last checked). Along the trail, you will notice small signs numbered 1 - 10. These are keyed to information in the brochure explaining about natural aspects and those of historical significance.

No swimming is allowed in Jordan Pond. Non-motorized boats such as canoes and kayaks are permitted.

(The National Park says the trail is a 1 mile loop yet the brochure says it is 1/2 mile)
