Bear Island Lighthouse is on Acadia Park Land
The Bear Island Lighthouse is on Acadia National Park land but is privately leased and not open to the public. Since it is about 1,200 feet from MDI, it is best viewed by boat. From Mount Desert Island, it is best viewed from the Manset section of Southwest Harbor. Time of Year in the above photo is May 26 at 12:37 PM.
