Grooves in granite on Cadillac Mountain

Cadillac Mountain Granite with Deep Scratches

This photo, taken on Cadillac Mountain, is a good example of the scratched or gouged granite that exists throughout Acadia National Park on the coast of Maine. Huge continental glaciers, at one time over 1 mile high, scrapped across the land here as far out as 400 miles into the sea.
