Mount Katahdin viewed from Abol Bridge in Northern Maine

Mount Katahdin Sunset from Abol Bridge

This view of Mount Katahdin, located in Baxter State Park, Maine, is from the single lane Abol Bridge on the Golden Road in Northern Maine. The bridge crosses over the West Branch of the Penobscot River. To the right is part of Abol Bridge Campground & Store. There is also a bunkhouse and breakfast area, a much desired place for hikers who have traveled the Appalachian Trail. The main bridge moves a little when vehicles cross over it. However, there is a separate walking section not impacted by those vehicles. The pedestrian section does shake and sway when someone is walking or simply shifting their weight on it which certainly impacts any photo capture attempts, especially when using a tripod. A strong wind can have the same effect. The view is often spectacular as shown here. here are image capture specs: Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF24-105mm L Series f/4.0 Lens at 24mm, f/11 and 0.3 Seconds, ISO 160. (July 16)
