Most of West Bay Pond in located in Gouldsboro, Maine. Part of it is in Township 7, Southern Division (T7 SD). This is a beautiful, quiet and peaceful area north of Coastal U.S. One on the eastern side of Hancock County.

A private, not-for-profit land trust called the Frenchman Bay Conservancy acquired a conservation easement on 161 acres bordering Lower West Bay Pond in April, 1990.
