Peak Color in Asticou
This image of peak color in Asticou Azalea Garden was captured on June 7 at about 11:40 AM. The sun, being almost directly overhead, highlights the tops of the trees while creating shadows at the sides and bottom. Generally considered not the optimal time for picture taking, the contrast of the blue sky makes it work. The horizontal band of the white flowering trees across the top draws out attention upward.
