Moonrise over Jackson Lab, Bar Harbor, Maine
The moon rises over Jackson Lab in Bar Harbor, Maine, seen here from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. The land in the distance is Schoodic Peninsula on the mainland where there is another large section of the National Park. It takes about 40 minutes to drive to that location from Bar Harbor. To do so, take Route 3 to Ellsworth on the mainland, then go East (a right) on U.S. Coastal Route One. Time of year is October 25 at 5:57 PM.
