Classic Maine Fishing Village

Greg A. Hartford, photographer, author, publisherIf you are looking for that classic New England or Maine fishing village feel, yet have quick and easy access to Acadia National Park, then this is the place for you. The harbor is almost always filled with lobster boats and other yachts, except of course very early when the lobster men are tending their traps out to sea. The harbor is shared with Bernard (on the western side). Both villages are part of Tremont. The most well known part of Bass Harbor is the historical Bass Harbor Head Light in Acadia National Park. A gorgeous spot to the northwest is Seal Cove. The cove faces West so you can capture some great sunsets there. Not far beyond this is Pretty Marsh Picnic area, also in Acadia National Park. To the East is Seawall, Wonderland Trail and Ship Harbor Nature Trail.
