Photographers Gather on Cadillac Mountain

A group of photographers has gathered on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, Maine, to capture a sunrise. While there's never any guarantee of how it will turn out, those who pursue this passion are driven by a burning desire to succeed. This morning was one of those exceptional occasions. A reverent silence envelops such moments as we breathe in the clean, still, salty air and marvel at the stunning beauty of nature's first light, visible across the ocean from the summit of Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor, Maine.

This photograph was taken in mid-October using a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L Series Lens, with settings of 78mm, f/16, a 1/40 second exposure, and ISO 125.
