Away from the Crowd
If you would like to take the family to a beach on the ocean while avoiding the crowds that can often happen during the summer season, consider Lamoine Beach Park in Lamoine, Maine. While not having fine sand, it has sand and small pebbles with relatively shallow waters that allows the water to get on the warmer side from the cold normal. This is particularly nice early in the morning since it faces east southeast with a view of Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island.
