Woodlawn Museum, Colonel Black Mansion in Ellsworth, Maine
What is now known as the Woodlawn Museum, was built by Colonel John Black between 1824 - 1827. It sits on a 180 acre estate and was originally a gentleman's farm. The house has seven chimneys with nine fireplaces. It has original furnishings in place. The grounds also has a carriage barn and a separate sleigh barn. Open May and October Tuesday thru Sunday 1 - 4 and June - September, Tuesday thru Saturday 10 - 5:00 & Sunday 1 - 4:00.
