Wave Strikes the Spindle at Otter Cliff - Acadia
This large wave has just struck the Spindle in front of Otter Cliff in Acadia National Park. In the month of September of 1604, the famous French explorer, Samuel de Champlain's ship struck what is believed to have been the Spindle causing severe damage to the hull of his ship. As a result, they had to spend the winter in Otter Cove for repairs.
