Otter Cliff on Mount Desert Island in September
September and October are great months to photograph Otter Cliff or any place in Acadia National Park or elsewhere along the Maine coast. The air is less humid, cleaner and the colors are more “crisp.” The east is on the right so I am facing south. The sun is relatively low of the horizon. What this does is increase contrast between different sections and deepens the colors. Instead of always shooting “into” the sun, try more times shooting perpendicular to where the sun is when early or late in the day. Local time was 7:34 AM on September 24. Image Specs: Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L Series Lens at 73mm, f/20, 1/6 Second Exposure and ISO 125.
