Trenton Maine Photo Gallery

This photo gallery features a collection of stunning images from Trenton, Maine, including scenes from both the mainland and Thompson Island, which lies between the mainland and Mount Desert Island. Many people are unaware that Thompson Island is part of Acadia National Park. The island offers a lovely picnic area, and its east-facing location makes it an excellent spot for photographing sunrises over the ocean.

Lots of Photo Opportunities

Trenton, Maine offers visitors far more than what one might assume when passing through on Route 3 on the way to Bar Harbor or elsewhere on Mount Desert Island (MDI). While many travelers will certainly notice the distant views of Cadillac Mountain, they will also see numerous roadside establishments preparing and serving Maine lobster. The most memorable visuals, however, are the first open ocean views encountered upon reaching the bridge. This area, known as the Mount Desert Narrows, features Eastern Bay to the east and Western Bay to the west. Between the mainland and MDI lies Thompson Island, part of both Trenton and Acadia National Park. This entire section is a treasure trove for capturing unforgettable images. Additionally, since much of mainland Trenton is oceanfront, there are plenty of opportunities to get a great picture.
