Acadia Information Center at Village Green
There is an Acadia National Park and Island Explorer shuttle bus service information center located next to the Bar Harbor Village Green on the northern side at 19 Firefly Lane. The center is staffed 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily during normal season and provides minimal maps and brochures, some for sale. The person at this location will likely be able to answer your questions. Park Entrance Passes may be purchased here as well. Their phone is within the Acadia National Park phone system (See below).
To the left (western side) of this building is some public restrooms and the Bar Harbor Fire & Police Department. This area serves as a Bar Harbor transportation hub to places that the Island Explorer Bus Service serves, on and off the island. The Village Green has multiple activities planned throughout the season.

Park Passes & Shuttle
For many visitors, the Village Green is the starting point for their exploration. They often come here for their park passes. However, these can be purchased at a number of locations as well as at the Park Entrance Station on the Park Loop Road just before arriving at Sand Beach. Keep in mind that the road there is one-way, running north-to-south. The Village Green is also where many get on the Free Shuttle Buses that travel into the park and elsewhere on the island. Throughout the season, various activities may be planned here such as arts and crafts shows. Look for the large standing sidewalk clock on Main Street.
