Picnic Area on Eastern Side of Thompson Island
A nice picnic area can be found on the eastern side of Thompson Island in Acadia National Park. Located in Trenton, Maine, the island is actually the first part of Acadia National Park that you pass through while on Route 3 on your way to Mount Desert Island. This is a great spot, especially if you have already purchased some lobster and clams in Trenton and would like a place to eat with more privacy.
