“Quiet Side!” Vacation Rentals

Greg A. Hartford, photographer, author, publisherIf you have never stayed in Southwest Harbor, consider giving it a try. It is a wonderful part of Mount Desert Island and will give you an opportunity to explore areas such as Echo Lake and Echo Lake Beach, Beech Mountain, Seawall, Bass Harbor Head Light, Manset and more. In addition, it offers great access to the sea with wide open arms. Sailing and yachting is in the community’s blood and it shows. The pace is slower and it is less crowded and this is why it is desired by so many. The out-islands such as Little and Great Cranberry are a short distance away. There are boat rental services in Manset as well as captain services. There is a wealth of photographic opportunities here with the yachts in the harbor and the mountains in the distance!
