Beauty of Southwest Harbor

From a photographer's point of view, the most striking geographical feature surrounding Southwest Harbor is undoubtedly the harbor itself. Expansive and stunning, it often hosts a multitude of yachts, sailboats, and lobster boats. Its open waters extend to offer breathtaking views of the entrance to Somes Sound, the islands south of Mount Desert Island, Bear Island Lighthouse, and the majestic Cadillac Mountain. Moreover, Southwest Harbor serves as a central hub, connecting visitors to a variety of attractions such as Echo Lake Beach, Seawall, Wonderland Trail, Bass Harbor, and Pretty Marsh Picnic Area.
