Winter Harbor is poised to make a comeback after the huge population and business hit it took in 2002 when the local naval base closed. Its population dropped dramatically by as much as 48%. In those times, there were many great deals on local homes and real estate to be found. This decrease in economy activity was misleading as it is a very attractive coastal community with lots of diversity. Soon, many more people will hear of this prime Acadia National Park location on Schoodic Peninsula. The images on this page, and the one that follows, should give a good idea about what is here to enjoy. As always, more will soon follow!
