October Sunrise on the Coast of Acadia
A dramatic sunrise unfolds on the coast of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert island, Maine in the middle of October. There was a cloud bank off-shore that lasted quite a while but finally, a break appeared long enough to capture this splendor at 7:23 AM. Image capture was with a Canon 5D Mark II and hand-held from a very risky spot. I had to use one hand and arm to hold onto a tree while trying to get the shot with the other.
