Acadia Bursting with Light
The group of photos on this page show much diversity of landscape. All of them have a couple of things in common. First, they were all captured during the early morning hours. Secondly, they all show places on Mount Desert Island. One of the key lens filters to use when shooting landscapes is the circular polarizer. This will remove much of the reflected and scattered light. In effect, it will bring out more color. An important thing to remember is that the effect is maximized when shooting perpendicular to the direction, or source, of the sunlight. This angle also happens to generally produce the most contrast because of the shadows.
